Neutral Doilies

Hello Friends!  Hope this finds you all doing well, and enjoying the weekend that is about to start! I thought I’d share with you the neutral doilies I have worked on during the last week and a half or so. For all of them I used partial balls of thread. I have discovered that I like the look of many neutral threads used together.

For this first doily, I used the pattern I posted here.

I didn’t use a pattern for these next two, nor did I write down what I did.  I might go back and do that, but I might not.  Not sure yet. I really enjoyed just doing whatever I felt like doing with these doilies. :)

For this doily I used a pattern I found on the Internet quite a while back.  I can’t remember exactly where I got it, but am pretty sure it is a Japanese charted pattern.  Well, I guess I should say I know it’s charted, and I think it’s Japanese!  LOL

Here are three of the doilies posing together. :)

Excellence Doily ~ Done in Variegated Brights & White

Hello all, and happy weekend to you!  Hope you’re having a nice one!  I’ve been to the chiropractor twice this week, so am sitting here at the computer with moist heat on my back.  Figured this was as good a time as any to do a blog post.  <smile>

This doily is my most recent crocheted item.  I love the vibrant colors used in it…but I do not love that the yellow variegated bled into the white.  <sigh> This was another of my projects where I was using partial balls of thread.

Also wanted to share my good news with you all.  My aunt was here last Saturday and took over 20 of my doilies to her shop to sell on consignment. She mostly sells vintage items, but she thinks my doilies will sell well, so we’re giving it a shot! She also gave me a whole box of Work Basket magazines. I only found a few doilies in them that I think I’d like to crochet, but they were fun to look through.

Showing Off

No, I am not showing off…Showing Off is the name given to this doily by Decorative Crochet (#39) magazine.  LOL  My version is a bit different because I had an awful time with my eyes, trying to follow the chart.  So, rather than let my eyes go buggy, I followed the chart through row 14, and then did my own thing after that.  Honestly, I like my version better than the magazine’s!  <smile>

Hoppin’ Down the Bunny Trail

This doily really didn’t have a name, that I know of, so I am calling it “Hoppin’ Down the Bunny Trail”.  I have no idea exactly where I got this pattern.  Somewhere on the Internet is all I know.  It’s a foreign charted pattern. It was very easy to make, although I kept messing up the one row with my counting being off. But that wasn’t the pattern’s fault…it was my fault.  Anyhoo, I think this is a cute little doily, and wanted to share it with you.

Hope you had a nice weekend and are getting back into the swing of things for the week ahead! As always, I thank you for stopping by!

Magic Crochet Potholders

I know these things have been around “forever”, but in my 39 years of crocheting I had never made any…up until now.  Turns out they are super fun, and super easy to make!  The only problem I had…if ya want to call it that…was that some came out square and some came out rectangular. On some of them I discovered if I just kept crocheting they’d come out square.  But on others that wasn’t the case.  I’m guessing it has something to do with tension.  Regardless, I like them both square and rectangular.

What a Mess!

Thought I better post this for anybody coming to check out my blog right now.  I got the big, bright idea of redoing my blog, and now I have it a total mess.  Will be working on it tonight, trying to get it looking how I want it.  Sorry about the mess.
ETA: Yay!  I think I finally have it how I want it!  Woohoo!  :D  LOL

Two New Doilies

Hope this finds you doing well and enjoying life!  It is still cold and wintery here, but as long as I have my electricity and water, I am good to go. We’ve been fortunate this winter and haven’t lost our electricity for long amounts of time.  I am quite thankful for that!

Anyhoo, thought I’d share these two big doilies I made.  The first one is called High Noon and is from a Decorative Crochet magazine.  I don’t recall which one, and am too lazy to get up and go look.  Sorry.  If I get up the nerve, I am thinking about entering this one in the Fair this year.  I keep wanting to do so, but have yet to work up the nerve.

I wish I had a better picture of it, but the weather was dreary and this is the best pic I could come up with.

This doily is called Venetian Gondolas and is from Decorative Crochet #41. I changed the last row of it as I was getting burned out on the thing.  There are a couple mistakes in it, but so be it.  The first one I ripped out and redid it, but the other two I just wasn’t in the mood to deal with.  I figure a person has to look pretty closely to see them. Normally I am not one to leave mistakes in my work.  So you know I was getting burned out on the thing. Too much counting to keep track of, I guess. LOL

Thanks for checking out my blog, and enjoy your day! I’ve been working on something else that I will be sharing before too long.
