Vintage Embroider Quilt

Hello all!  I mentioned in my last post that I had been working on another project.  Well, this is it!  :)  My grandmother passed away last July, and I was given a "ton" of her embroidery pieces and crocheted doilies.  Some of the material was too rotten to do much with, but I managed to salvage a lot of good pieces of embroidery work.  I turned them into this small quilt.  It's nothing fancy...just a tied quilt...but the pieces in it are very special.

And here is the reverse side. I used a vintage sheet I had purchased at Good Will a while back.

A few closeups of some of the embroidery work.

Thought I'd also share a couple spring flower pictures.  Not much blooming right now, but these grape hyacinths are looking good, as well as the daffodils.  :)

One more pic before I go. I went to town with Laura and two of the grandkids Saturday night.  We went to Good Will, and I found this "hoot".  :)

Take care and enjoy your day!

Lots of Crochet

Happy April everybody!  Where is the time going?  April is almost half way gone.  That's OK, though, as I'm ready for October to get here.  Why, you ask?!  Because I am going to be Gramma again!  Woohoo!!  Color me happy!  My son and his wife are expecting their first.  It's an exciting time for all of us.  :)

On a crochet note (and I made these, hoping to sell, before I even knew about the baby lol) here are a few things I've made recently. I've listed them on Oak Hill Crochet, but haven't sold any of these yet.  I started this poncho years ago and found it in a bag.  I decided to finish it and make a little girls poncho out of it.  I created the neckline and tie myself.

These next three items were made from paid patterns from Snappy Tots. I love her creativity, and these were fun to make.  The cherries weren't part of the pattern.  Those are my own creation.

I was trying to find a nice bootie pattern that I liked.  I made these three pair, but they just weren't exactly what I wanted.

So I set out to make a one piece baby bootie that I really liked.  After a bit of trial and error, I managed to come up with something I love!  And then I couldn't stop making baby booties last week!  What's nice is that the last row can be customized to ones' liking.  I did a plain sc edging on some of them, and some of them I made a tad fancier.  So much fun.  I am going to post these on Oak Hill Crochet shortly.  Hoping to sell some.  I want to make some special ones for the new baby.  I have plenty of time to do that, though.

Oh, I almost forgot to show you the doilies I made for myself.  I made them to coordinate with "new" sheer curtains that I had purchased at Good Will.  Pattern info is on the pics.

There is another project I did, but I'll save it for another post.  I think I have filled this one with plenty of pics.  lol  Hope you are all doing well and enjoying spring!  If you're like us, though, spring isn't springing too much just yet.  ;)  Thanks for stopping by!!
