This and That

Happy weekend to all of you reading this!  Hope your weekend is a good one.  I am back home now after having spent the 20th through the 26th at my son's house.  I was taking care of their dog while they went on their honeymoon.  They went to Disney!  Judging from the pics I've seen, it looks like they had a great time!  Axle and I got along well over all, but it took me all week to realize he was "playing me".  lol  He ran off from me about six times from Saturday through Thursday.  Stinker!!  Thankfully he came back all of those times.  Here is a pic I took of him shortly after I got there on the 20th.  I took several more, using my tablet, but this is the only one I have saved to my computer so far.  Will get the others later.

It seemed to take me forever to decide what crochet project(s) I wanted to work on while I was there.  I checked out my Pinterest boards and was inspired to make some thread crochet flowers.  I enjoyed making them.  Eventually I hope to turn them into a wreath. In these pics they are not yet blocked.  I have them them blocked and drying right now. Some of the flowers are patterns from this book:
100 Lace Flowers to Crochet  And some of the flowers I created on my own without a pattern.

I did all the flowers in the day time, and then in the evenings I colored.  Fun!  Here is a collage of all the pages I colored.

Tomorrow we're going to visit the grandkids, so that should be a fun day.  Take care, and enjoy your weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Sharp Crayons!

Hello all!  Do any of you enjoy coloring?!  I do...always have.  One thing that frustrates me big time, though, is dull crayons.  I've been on the search for a decent crayon sharpener, and I finally found one!  Woohoo!  Now when the grandkids and I color together, we will have freshly sharpened crayons to us.  Yay us!  lol  My new crayon sharpener took this bucket of crayons from this:

To this:

Seriously...it takes the paper off as it is sharpening the crayons. Love, love, love it!

On a crochet note, I thought I'd share this little fella that I made a while back.  I forgot to post it earlier.  It is a little owl I made for my son.  It is a paid pattern, and can be found here.  I did a crappy job on the stitching, but the little guy is still cute.  lol

I'll be dog-sitting for my son and daughter-in-law for a week while they go on their honeymoon.  I'm trying to decide what crochet, or embroidery, project I want to work on during that time.  Or do I want to do neither and just color all week?!  Decisions, decisions...  I've been looking at Pinterest for some inspiration, but so far I am still not sure what I want my next project to be.

I made these hearts for the grandkids for Valentine's Day.  I like to make them a heart every year for Valentine's Day, and hopefully when they're older and I'm possibly no longer around, they'll look at their hearts and remember how much I loved them.  <3  It's not a very good pic as the lighting wasn't too great.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your weekend!!

Edited to add a pic of the crayon sharpener.  I've had a few people ask me about it, so here ya go.  :)

Weekend Ramblings

Hello all!  Here it is the weekend once again.  Where does the time go?!  I had the fortune of getting to go to a Good Will again this past week.  Found lots of goodies to bring home with me.  One of these days I need to go through my stuff in the basement and take a bag *to* Good Will!  lol  I enjoy looking around there, and try to only bring things home with me that make me happy.  :)  First up is this yarn.  It was all 99 cents a skein.  I didn't think that was too bad, so I snatched it up! Not the I *need* yarn, but it'll get used eventually and I thought the colors were good to have on hand.

I have a thing for stuffed animals.  I didn't get them when I was little, and our kids didn't have many as we couldn't afford them.  So now I enjoy looking around Good Will for any stuffed animals I might like.  I can usually afford the ones at Good Will.  These three cuties came home with me this time. :)  After I took their picture, they got a bath in my washing machine.  ;)

Next up is this bunny figurine.  I love bunnies!  I think they are so cute...don't you?!

Lastly is this little wren magnet.  You know how I love birds!  I just had to snatch up this little cutie!  I put it on my fridge right away.

As always, I have been doing a bit of crocheting.  This week it was skirts.  I decided to make skirts for my granddaughter's 18" dolls, and then I decided to make a matching one for my granddaughter.  I'll be giving them to her tomorrow when I see her.  We're going to their place for a Super Bowl party.  I don't care about football at all, but hey, it's a chance to see the grandkids!  :D  I posted these on my Facebook crochet page in the hopes somebody would want to order some.  I doubt that will happen, but it can't hurt to try.  If you'd like to make one of your own, the pattern can be found HERE.  It is a paid pattern from EverLaughter.  Her patterns are nice.  I love the color of the yarn I used.  It is Red Heart and is called Black Light.

Oh, I forgot one of my Good Will find pics.  I got these vintage sheets for $2 each.  Love them!! They're wrinkly as I hadn't tossed them into the washer yet.

Thanks for stopping by, and here's wishing you a wonderful weekend!!
