Venus Observed

Hello!  Hope you’re all managing to stay warm.  I know here in Pennsylvania it is really cold.  Brrr!  I am thankful that our electric is staying on…knock on wood!  My son-in-law is a lineman, and I sure don’t want him…or any of the others…having to work in this weather. Plus, I enjoy my electric!  ;)

Anyhoo, here is my latest doily.  It is called Venus Observed, and can be found in Decorative Crochet #44.

I think it looks white in the pics, but it is actually ecru.  I am happy to have a couple new doilies that are done in neutral colors. I like to have them on hand in case I need a quick present for somebody and I don’t know their color preference.

Thanks for looking, and enjoy your weekend!!

“Reflections” Doily & Good Will Finds

Hello friends!  Hope those of you who are in the deep freeze again, as we are here, are managing to keep warm and safe! I’m fortunate that I am a stay-at-home wife and don’t have to go out in the bitter cold very much. I am quite thankful for that!

After I made my Rita’s Reflections doily, I started another one from the June 2013 issue of Crochet World.  Didn’t pay much attention to the name of it until I was finished.  It is actually called “Reflections” Doily!  What are the chances of that?!  LOL  Here is a picture of the one I made.

I also wanted to share with you some of my Good Will finds from this past weekend.

Normally, I am all about color.  The more, the merrier!  But I was really drawn to this beautiful plate with a black and white pattern. So pretty!

This bowl isn’t in the best of shape, but I thought it was too pretty to pass up.

Last, but not least, I found these two pretty fabric items.

Rita’s Reflections Doily

First of all I would like to thank those of you who took the time to comment on my last post.  I am glad to know somebody is looking at my posts. I know I don’t always comment when I look at a post either, but I did want to get an idea of how many might be checking out my blog. Again, thank you!

This is my latest creation.  I doily I made up as I went along.  Wasn’t sure what to call it, but I think I’ll call it Rita’s Reflections Doily. Unless I come up with a better name for it.  LOL

Lap Afghans & Vintage Goodness!

Hello all!  Hope this finds you all doing well, and those hooks flyin’! Thought I’d show you my two most recent lap afghans.  The first is called Fantasy Blanket, and the pattern can be found here.  I confess I got tired of it rather quickly and mine is smaller than the beautiful one shown at the link.  I just got tired of dealing with all the ends…and the unevenness of the rows.  I realize that’s a “personal problem”, so to speak.  LOL

I call this one “Tulip Row”, and the pattern can be found here. The colored yarns are all Simply Soft, and the white is ILTY from Hobby Lobby. (Same goes for the Fantasy Blanket.)

I also wanted to share with you the pretty things my daughter, Laura, made for me for Christmas.  She used vintage sheets for these items.  I love them!

First is this pretty apron.

And she also made this pretty wreath for me!

Laura also made me some cute felt ornaments for my tree, but I put them away and didn’t get pics of them.

If you have read this post to the end…I thank you very much!  Seems I am not getting many lookers, so I wanted to let those of you who do look at my blog, know that I appreciate you very much!

Afghan & Scrapbook Pages

Hello All!  For those of you in the deep freeze…or about to be, like we are here…stay safe and warm!

I wanted to share, with you, this lapghan that I finished up recently.  Actually, it was probably a couple weeks ago, but I’m just now getting around to posting it.  I have since made another small afghan (still need to get a pic of it) and am working on yet another.  Will share those soon, hopefully.

For this one I used all Simply Soft yarns. I used this pattern, which is one of my favorites!

I love to scrapbook, and starting in 2012 I began doing a digital “yearbook”.  For this year’s book, I included these pages at the end. I thought it would be fun to have some of my crochet work documented for future generations.
