It's a......

GIRL!!!!
My son and his wife had their baby on October 26th.  Kendall is a little sweetie pie, and as you can imagine has stolen my heart...along with my other three grandchildren.  :)  <3

On a sad note, a cousin of mine was found dead the morning of October 17th.  She was only 42.  I haven't heard yet as to what the cause of death was.  I was all set to send her a big order of crocheted goodies the next day!  I will share pics of those goodies with you here, so you can see some of what I've been up to.

These first two sets had already been sent to her a couple weeks before she passed. She was so tickled with the things, and ordered more things....things she never got to enjoy.  :(

This set she ordered for her sister.  I went ahead and sent it to her sister, free of charge, and told her to consider it a gift from Cathy and me.

These next items are some I didn't get to send her, but I know she would have loved.  I'm trying to sell them on Oak Hill Crochet, but people just aren't buying.  No surprise there.  Well, my aunt recently ordered a scarf.  Other than that, nothing, nada, zip.

I love this owl scarf.  It is supposed to be a super scarf, but I made it a regular scarf.  The pattern can be found at Repeat Crafter Me.

The following is the scarf I made for my aunt.  She asked for white with a red and black edging, and this is what I came up with.

I have made a bunch of hats for Kendall, but don't have any pics of them by themselves. I also made hats for some of my family members, but I don't have any pics of them.  I've definitely been keeping busy.  :)

Thanks for stopping by, and here's wishing you a great week ahead!

Beautiful Nature

My goodness, it's been a month since I posted.  Sure wish I knew where all these days are going.  lol  I'm finally back with some nature photos to share.  Enjoy!!

This doe and fawns visited our yard not too long ago. They were munching on fallen apples.

I absolutely love zinnias, and these beauties all came up from seeds I planted this year.  I recently did a photo shoot for my great niece with them.  She's a senior this year.  No pics of her to share, but I will share the zinnias.

Three weeks ago I had the pleasure of seeing grandbaby #4 in a 4D ultrasound.  Can hardly wait to meet him or her!

Thanks for visiting!!  :)

Has it Really Been Two Months?!

Hello all!  I can hardly believe it's been just a couple days shy of two months since I last posted to my blog.  A month maybe, but two?!  lol  Apparently the time is getting away from me.  Never fear!  I am here to share some of my crochet and some of my etcetera!  Let's get started, shall we?!

I've been trying to figure out what folks would like to buy from my Oak Hill Crochet page.  I've pretty much decided the answer to that is...nothing.  :(  But that doesn't stop me.  I'm still trying.  I'm thinking that maybe this fall and/or winter I'll be able to sell some things again.  I can hope. Here are a couple things I've recently posted. No interest in any of them, though.  I even tried having a sale where everything was $10 off.  No takers.  -sigh-

I've also done some birthday crochet recently.  I forgot to take pics of two of the water bottle holders, but I did remember to get a pic of the shark one I made for Clayton.

I made an appliqued washcloth for each grandchild.

I've made several things for the grandbaby due in October, but can't show you until after the baby shower in September. ;)

Now for some of the "etcetera".  I've always loved to color, and recently I've been doing a fair amount.  Do any of you enjoy coloring?  It seems to have become a "big thing" these days, but as I told Rick, I was coloring when coloring wasn't cool.  lol

This one is from a book of postcards I got myself for my birthday. I figure this way after I'm done coloring I have a pretty card to send to somebody. :)

And this next one is the first gray scale coloring I've done.  Not 100% happy with it, but not too shabby for a first attempt.

One last thing before I go.  Remember the 18 inch doll swimsuits I shared a while back?  Well, here are the dolls with their new suits!  :)  I think Adelyn and her friends were all happy to get one of these the day of Adelyn's 7th birthday party.

I shall close for now, but hope to be back soon with a nature photos post, so stay tuned!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Some Crochet and 35 Years

Hello out there!  :)  Thought I'd stop in and share some of my recent crochet with you. I made a couple small thread doilies this past weekend, but they're not blocked yet.  Plus I'll be making one more before I share pics of them.  What I have accomplished lately are these six swimsuits for 18" dolls. They will be part of the favors for my granddaughter's 7th birthday party in July.  I used this pattern to get started, but changed and added some things to suit my own purposes.  It was a good starting point though.

Adelyn's dance recital was the end of May, and instead of flowers I made her this tote bag and put some fun things in it for her.  No pattern, just did my own thing.

Adelyn the day of the recital.

Today is Rick's and my 35th wedding anniversary. These two wildflower bouquets were waiting for me when I got up this morning.  :)

I also crocheted these fisherman sets and posted on my Oak Hill Crochet page, but so far no interest.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your week ahead! :)

Butterflies and Diapers

There.  How's that for a catchy title?!  lol  I've been doing some nature photography, and some crochet, that I thought I'd share.  Thus the headline.  I love to go for walks and see what nature has to offer me. For these butterfly photos I only had to go out in our yard where the fruit trees are in blossom.

And this butterfly was enjoying the bluets one evening last week.

This is my most recent crochet project.  Baby doll diapers.  Aren't they just too adorable?!  I got the pattern free online.  Can't seem to find it now.  But if you do a search there are lots of options.  I didn't have buttons the right size, so I crocheted some.  I think these little diapers turned out super cute.  I have the listed on my Oak Hill Crochet page.

Hope your week is off to a good start!  Take care, and thanks for stopping by!

Vintage Embroider Quilt

Hello all!  I mentioned in my last post that I had been working on another project.  Well, this is it!  :)  My grandmother passed away last July, and I was given a "ton" of her embroidery pieces and crocheted doilies.  Some of the material was too rotten to do much with, but I managed to salvage a lot of good pieces of embroidery work.  I turned them into this small quilt.  It's nothing fancy...just a tied quilt...but the pieces in it are very special.

And here is the reverse side. I used a vintage sheet I had purchased at Good Will a while back.

A few closeups of some of the embroidery work.

Thought I'd also share a couple spring flower pictures.  Not much blooming right now, but these grape hyacinths are looking good, as well as the daffodils.  :)

One more pic before I go. I went to town with Laura and two of the grandkids Saturday night.  We went to Good Will, and I found this "hoot".  :)

Take care and enjoy your day!
