Excellence Doily

Another doily finished, and instead of tucking this away in a pizza box, I gifted this to my daughter for her birthday.  I used various shades of neutral colored threads.  This is the first I’ve made a doily with various neutrals, and I have to say I am pleased with the results. At present, I am working on another doily. Will share when it’s finished.  It’s a big one and is taking me a bit longer than usual.

This doily is called Excellence and is from Decorative Crochet #8.

  3. Very pretty doily, Rita!! :)
Where can we buy decorative crochet book? Is it a book or magazine ? I have heard of decorative crochet and magic crochet but I haven't ever found any website selling those books.

    1. Thanks, Preeti. :) They quit publishing Decorative Crochet and Magic Crochet years ago, unfortunately. They can be found on sites like eBay and Etsy, but can be quite pricey. I look for them at garage sales and flea markets. I'm training my husband to do the same. ;) LOL

    2. Hi Rita and Preeti, I also subscribed to those two magazines years ago and have many but not all of the issues. I love those magazines! I have a link here where you can find back issues and the patterns they contain for free. Go here: http://www.pinterest.com/jammegg/doily-projects/ Click on the magazine cover you want and keep clicking until it takes you inside the magazine and then just scroll down through the patterns. Rita your doily is just lovely. I have seen that pattern in my magazine but have yet to make it. Will have to add it to my long, long list of to do's :)
      Happy hooking, penny x
