Good Will Finds & Some Crochet

Hello all!  Hope you are having a good weekend.  Things are fine here.  Rick worked today, and now we're both just taking it easy tonight.  He is still working just part time, but we're hoping it turns into full time.  Jobs are very scarce around here.  Most everything to do with the coal industry has taken a major nosedive.  You might recall that Rick lost his job in August of 2015.  Since then there have been numerous mines shut down, and hundreds, if not thousands, of workers without jobs.  It's not just here in Pennsylvania either.  West Virginia and Kentucky are dealing with this as well.  Probably other places I don't know about.  I do know Pennsylvania is in a world of hurt what with the coal and gas industries taking a nosedive.

Anyhoo, I best get on with what I was intending to post.  Got sidetracked there.  lol  Rick had a chiropractor appointment on Wednesday, and I tagged along.  I had him drop me off at Good Will and I looked around there for a bit. I found two bird figurines I really liked.  This owl:

And these pretty birds:

I also found some Temptations that I thought might come in handy.  This is the second time I found Temptations at a Good Will.  Temptations is sold on QVC, in case anybody is wondering.

Lastly, I found these Corelle dessert plates.  We only had a few dessert plates, so these will come in handy when the whole family is here.

Now for the crochet portion of this post.  I'm still trying to make a few dollars, so I have been crocheting things to try to sell.  There isn't much interest in this area, but I shall persevere.  I thought I might be able to sell some baby photo props, but I can't even get the photographers to look at my page.  Bummer.  But, as I said, I shall persevere.  :)  Here are the first ones I made.  I used my granddaughter's baby dolls for the pics.

The most recent one is this Mermaid cocoon with headband.

That's all for this time.  Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my little corner of blog land.  It is much appreciated!

  1. Hi Rita, your baby props are looking great!! Love all of them:) Did you design all of these? If so, then you can also sell the pattern as there are many who might be just interested in patterns.

  2. Love your photo props! I fully understand the "no interest" situation. My family constantly tells me I should sell my work and I answer "I would if someone would buy them!" Hope your hubby finds work soon.

  3. I'm glad your husband has found some part-time work. When can he retire? I hope some photogs find your props! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
