Saturday Fun & a Doily
Hello all! Hope you had a lovely weekend and are off to a great start for this week! My son-in-law and oldest grandson went up north to fish over the weekend, so my daughter and the other two grandkids came here to visit on Saturday. We ended up going out for pizza that evening, and found a couple of playgrounds for the kids to play at. They had a blast!
This first pictures is of me, Lawson and Adelyn posing by one of the many groundhog statues that are situated around Punxsutawney. Lawson wanted no part of the thing, but I convinced him to let me pick him up, and we would stand away from the groundhog. You can see by the pic that he is none too impressed. lol This particular groundhog was painted by children, in a nature theme. Each groundhog around town is painted in a different theme.
Adelyn had fun swinging and going down slides.
I took this pic of Lawson just before he plopped down to go down the slide. He was being such a big boy. When he started out he was careful of the little slides, but before long he was going down the bigger slides like a pro!
Also wanted to share my latest doily project. This is Doily #5 from Patricia Kristofferson’s Pineapple Gallery book. For years I avoided her patterns because they made my head spin, but I’m finding that if I just go little chunks at a time, I’m OK. I just wish my eyes didn’t blur up on me so quickly. But that’s not because of he patterns. I’m guessing it’s because I’m 51. lol Anyhoo, without further ado, here’s my doily:
Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy your day!

Easter Greetings & a Hint of Spring
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you had a wonderful Easter! Ours was very nice. We had our whole family here, and it was a nice time. Poor Lawson was up sick during the night on Saturday, but he was much better on Easter day. So far nobody else has gotten whatever he had…and, of course, we’re hoping and praying nobody does. Here is a picture of Rick and me, with the three grandkids, that I had my son take on Easter. I always have to ask somebody to take pics with me in it. Otherwise, there would be no pics of me. Not that I really like pics of me, but I do want my grandchildren to have pics of me when they are older, and perhaps I am gone.
We went outside in the evening, and the kids had fun with the bubbles. Truth be told, so did Gramma Rita!
My Jello poke cake I decked out for Easter.
Miss Adelyn being silly. She was saying “I’m a Gramma”. lol I asked her if she ever saw me walking around with a stick like that!! She cracks me up!
Some of them went out back to shoot target. These pics aren’t the best because I was zooming from afar. I like to shoot target, too, but wanted to spend the time with the kiddos.
And here are a few signs of spring. I took these pics late last week, so the daffodil shoots are up a bit more now.
Didn’t see many birds when I took a little walk, but I did see this chickadee and a couple other birds.
Find the birdy. :)
You can see this one easier.
On a crochet note, I recently made a doily, but it’s blocking right now so I don’t have a pic of it yet. Also made a couple squares for the Moogly CAL. I don’t seem to be really liking the squares she chooses, so for the most part have been picking my own alternatives. Hopefully one of these times, I’ll actually make what she chooses. lol
Thanks again for stopping by!
