Phipps Conservatory

Rick and I went to Phipps Conservatory back in April.  Today I am sharing the scrapbook pages of the pictures from that day.  Just did the pages this afternoon. Thought I’d share a bit of the “etc.” part of my blog. LOL  Enjoy!4-18-14_1

A Blanket & some Butterflies

Hello everybody!  Hope this finds you doing well, and enjoying the weekend.  Tomorrow I’ll be going with the family to an amusement/water park.  Probably won’t be getting any crochet done then.  LOL  It is supposed to be nice weather-wise, though, so that is good.

Thought I’d share what I’ve been working on recently.  I started this blanket using 3 strands of WW yarn held together.  I got the idea off of the Internet here.  (Click on the word “here” and it should take you there.) I’m opting to use plain old DC and just randomly attaching yarns. This will be a big blanket when I’m done.  Rick wants it made big enough that he can wrap up in it during the winter months and not have his tootsies sticking out.  It’ll be nice and warm, which he will like, too.

I’ve also been making lots of pretty butterflies.  There are patterns for these everywhere on the Internet.  I checked out several, and am just doing my own thing with them.  I’m using embroidery floss to make these.  I want to make a whole bunch of ‘em and put them on my bedroom wall in a pleasing manner.  I was going to buy some papery butterflies to do it with, but then decided to create my own.

I have lots more of these to make before I’m done, but I don’t mind.  At least not for now.  LOL  It’s fun coming up with different color combos!

Thanks for checking out my blog!!  Enjoy your day!!
